Motivation Monday
One thing that helps keep me motivated are audio books. I have TONS of them and many of them are about health and fitness, both mental and physical.
I listen to them when I’m driving, doing yard or housework, sometimes when biking or walking, and when working on any repetitive task. They not only make the tasks less boring, they make the time go faster, AND they remind me (if I’m re-listening to something), or educate me, about why I’m doing this and of changes I can implement to be even better.
I often listen to the same book several times (not in a row, but over time), because, yes, it’s sometimes easy to miss something, but also to just remind me of things that I might’ve forgotten.
I tend to fall asleep while reading, and am pretty sure I haven’t finished actually READING a book in the last 10 years, but I can listen to books and absorb the info and actually finish them eagerly and easily.
They keep me motivated and reminded of WHY all this is important because it’s sometimes easy to forget about the changes that are happening and the good you’re doing when you don’t see frequent progress on the scale or in the mirror. There is much more going on, many more changes happening inside us that aren’t always apparent, and those are important reasons to never give up.
